Time and time again my essential oils amaze me. But using them to deter the cats from clawing our suede lounge takes the cake. W e have to chase them away from the lounge every day. We hear that dreaded clawing sound and run to chase them before they do permanent damage. I came across a recipe last week and tried it. It did make the cats stop and sniff around, but they still ended up clawing the lounge. I tried a new blend each day until I finally found this one that has stopped them clawing altogether. I put approximately 1 cup of water,  10 drops of doTERRA Eucalyptus Oil and 10 drops of doTERRA Lemon Oil in a spray bottle, shook it up and sprayed it on the corners of the lounge where the cats claw every day. The first day they came up and sniffed around, but then walked away. I haven't seen them near the lounge at all since then. Arborvitae (pronounced arber-vy-tee) is cleansing and purifying.  When you diffuse Arborvitae it not only brings peace and calm, but it also helps get rid of insects in your home. Take 1 or 2 drops in a veggie capsule daily for immune support. It also preserves wood. Use this simple recipe to make wood polish: Ingredients: 1/4 cup olive oil 1/4 cup vinegar 10 drops doTERRA essential oils (Wild Orange, Arborvitae or lemon) 250ml glass spray bottle Pour it all into the bottle, shake and use with a microfibre cloth. Arborvitae has a nice woody scent like pencil shavings and reminds me of the smell of my pencil case when I was at school. This stuff really works! Our bathtub can get pretty grotty because my hubby is a diesel fitter and usually comes home with grease on him and in his hair. But also because I love to add essential oils to my bath, which can leave an oily ring around the bathtub. This cleaner just cuts through the oil and grease and it washes away leaving my bathtub nice and clean. 1 cup of white vinegar 1 cup of water 1 tablespoon of doTERRA On Guard Cleaner Concentrate 5 drops of lemon essential oil (optional) Heat the vinegar in the microwave for 45 seconds. Pour everything into a spray bottle. Spray your bathtub or shower and leave it to sit for 10 minutes. Simply wipe clean with a damp cloth then rinse with water. No scrubbing needed. I came up with a non-toxic recipe for the best air freshener ever. It smells absolutely amazing and is the only air freshener I use now. Unlike other air fresheners, it doesn't just blend in with the awful smell you are trying to eliminate. It works so well, smells beautiful and you get the benefits of the essential oils. Especially if you use doTERRA essential oils as they are Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade. I know you shouldn't use plastic with essential oils, but I really didn't want a glass bottle sitting in my toilet. So I have been using a plastic spray bottle for 8 or 9 months now without any issues. I think it is so diluted that it shouldn't harm the plastic. Pour all ingredients into a spray bottle and see how good it is for yourself.
